Prayagraj: A man was allegedly assaulted by a group of miscreants including an alleged member of slain Atiq gang near Kasari Masarai area under the limits of Dhoomanganj police station on Sunday. The victim, Rameez, alleged that he was allegedly assaulted by Khalid Zafar and his accomplices when he had gone to market for some work on Sunday. When he resisted, the miscreants threatened him with dire consequences. Following the incident, an FIR under relevant sections was registered. The victim said that the prime accused, with the butt of the pistol, hit him repeatedly and left him injured. The police are investigating the matter.
