Shimla: Himachal Pradesh governor Kavinder Gupta on Saturday called for strengthening the link between education, scientific research, innovation and societal needs to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.Addressing the sixth edition of ‘Education Mahakumbh Abhiyan’ at National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur, on the theme ‘Vigyanmay Bharat-Viksit Bharat’, he said technology must address challenges in agriculture, healthcare, water conservation, disaster management, and remote mountain regions.Highlighting emerging technologies such as AI, robotics, biotechnology, and space science, Gupta stressed the need for multidisciplinary, skill-based education under National Education Policy 2020. He urged students to become technology creators and innovators rather than mere consumers.He called for collaboration among academia, industry and start-ups, with technological progress aligned with ethics and environmental conservation.
