Nanduri Primary Health Centre

Nashik: The primary health centre (PHC) at Nanduri in Kalwan taluka of Nashik district has becoming the first paperless primary health centre in Maharashtra, adopting advanced digital technology to streamline rural healthcare delivery. The facility has successfully integrated the comprehensive e-Sushrut digital management portal across its operations that has six modules right from the registration of the patient till the treatment provided.“This end-to-end digital system digitizes every single stage of patient interaction, including initial patient registration, electronic case paper generation, medical consultations, diagnostic laboratory reports, and pharmacy medicine distributions. It is the only PHC which has all the modules working and there is no need for carrying a case paper unless the patient wants it,” said additional district health officer Dr Rajendra Bagul.Upon arrival at the health center, visiting patients are issued a unique token number synced directly with their Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID. Doctors access testing records and issue prescriptions directly on the e-Sushrut portal. This automated workflow eliminates the necessity of carrying physical paper documents, significantly saving time for attending doctors and accelerating treatment times for visiting patients. Moreover, patients can view their health records and diagnostic reports on their smartphones using their personal ABHA accounts.Dr Bagul said, “The e-Sushrut system has made patient health records available in a digital format, rendering the treatment process much easier. A total of 160 government health institutions in the district have been linked to this system, ensuring easy access to digital health records. Due to the linkage of ABHA health records, Nashik district has bagged the top rank in Maharashtra.”The 160 government healthcare facilities in the district include district hospitals, sub-district hospitals, rural hospitals, general hospitals, women’s hospitals, and primary health centres. Most of them are operating upto four modules out of all six. Nanduri PHC is the only one that has all six modules operational. The others will also be operating fully online, he added.Ends
