T’puram: Anchal Police on Thursday arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old survivor in a Pocso case again after his release from jail.The accused Riyazuddin is a native of Nilambur in Malappuram.According to the police, the first alleged incident took place in 2024 after Riyazuddin came into contact with the survivor through Instagram. The police said the accused developed a relationship with the girl and allegedly sexually assaulted her after promising to marry her.A case was subsequently registered against him under Pocso Act. He was arrested in connection with the case and spent around 20 months in jail, the police said.After his release, Riyazuddin allegedly contacted the survivor again. According to the police, he allegedly sexually assaulted the girl on multiple occasions over the past two months.The police said the accused later took the survivor to his native place in Nilambur. Acting on a tip-off about their whereabouts, the police traced the accused and the girl to his residence and arrested him.He was subsequently brought back to Kollam for further legal proceedings.The arrest was made by a team led by Anchal SHO Gopakumar.The accused was produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody. Further investigation into the case is under way, the police said.
