Chennai: Water technology company VA Tech WABAG’s order book crossed Rs 20,000 crore for the first time, reaching around Rs 20,200 crore at the end of the first half of FY27 and providing revenue visibility of more than four times its annual revenue. The company secured orders worth Rs 5,200 crore during the first half, driven by two mega projects — a seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination project in Kuwait, marking its entry into the country, and a large desalination plant for Reliance Industries at Jamnagar. Other key wins included a project in Ajman, UAE, the Donauinsel Water Works project in Europe, and municipal orders from Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) and Delhi Jal Board (DJB).“Crossing Rs 20,000 crore in order book for the first time ever is a defining milestone for WABAG, achieved alongside robust top-line growth and strong profit momentum,” said Rajiv Mittal, CMD of VA Tech WABAG.Strong margins and better working capital management helped the company maintain its net-cash-positive position for the 15th consecutive quarter, with net cash exceeding Rs 1,100 crore, excluding hybrid annuity model (HAM) projects, Mittal said. Its gross cash position stood at Rs 1,218 crore. In Q2 of this fiscal, the company’s consolidated net profit rose 23% year-on-year to Rs 104.5 crore, from Rs 84.8 crore in the year-ago period. Consolidated revenue increased 20% to Rs 1,000.2 crore from Rs 834.5 crore. For the half-year ended September 2026, consolidated profit after tax (PAT) rose 29% year-on-year to Rs 195 crore, while revenue increased 20% to Rs 1,887 crore. EBITDA grew 21% to Rs 261 crore. With a healthy bid pipeline, the company expects demand for water security, treated wastewater reuse and desalination in the municipal and industrial sectors to support growth.
