Ramgarh: Factory inspector, Circle No 1, on Thursday ordered a three-day ban on the movement of factory-related heavy vehicles across Ramgarh district during Durga Puja, citing expected crowds and previous accidents.Factory occupiers and managers have been directed to keep such vehicles off roads on Oct 18, Oct 19, and Oct 20.The order covers all industrial areas, including Patratu, Bhurkunda, Mandu, Gola, Chitarpur and Ramgarh industrial belt. It asked the administration to ensure compliance and treat the directions as a high priority to prevent accidents.The order said incidents involving heavy vehicles had occurred during previous Durga Puja celebrations because of large crowds, with another rush expected this year.Ramgarh subdivisional officer Krishna Murari Tirkey separately issued a notice the same day restricting the entry of heavy vehicles into Ramgarh town during the festival.District administration also issued guidelines to Puja pandals on crowd control, fire safety and traffic management.In Oct 2022, six people, including two women and a child, were killed when a speeding factory-bound truck ran over people near a Barkakana pandal.
