Guwahati: Pimpri Chinchwad University (PCU) has introduced full scholarships for eight students from the northeast.PCU, Pune, has introduced eight scholarships covering 100% of the tuition fees for one meritorious student from each of the northeastern states.Students from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim can apply if they meet the university’s eligibility criteria and have secured at least 85% in their qualifying examinations.“When we educate one individual, we contribute to the progress of an entire community and region,” said Dr Girish Desai, executive director of the Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust.Desai said the initiative would help students from the northeast access quality education, modern technologies and industry-oriented learning, while expanding their career prospects.
