T’puram: KWA has stepped up action against illegal encroachments and unauthorized structures along the Peroorkada-Aruvikkara pipeline road in the city.On Wednesday, officials removed encroachments on stretches near Vazhayila Junction. Similar eviction proceedings will follow at other locations where notices have already been served.KWA said the drive is intended to protect the pipeline road and its assets and ensure smooth access for repairs and maintenance of the water distribution network. Encroachers have been asked to vacate occupied portions voluntarily to avoid action. Notices are being issued through assistant executive engineers under the 2014 Act. If violations continue beyond the deadline, executive engineers will issue final speaking orders, followed by eviction with police assistance after 30 days under prescribed procedures.
