Ranchi: Students appearing for the Class X and intermediate (Class XII) examinations of Jharkhand Academic Council in 2027 can submit application forms without a late fee from Nov 12 to 26, according to a notification issued by JAC.Forms will be accepted with a late fee until Dec 4. Candidates submitting applications within the regular window must pay the examination fee by Nov 30, while those applying with a late fee will have to deposit the fee by Dec 7.The forms can be submitted online through the examination form section of the JAC website or through RTGS. The schedule applies to both matriculation and intermediate examinations.JAC secretary S D Tigga said the examination dates had not yet been finalised. “Tentatively, the examinations are expected to begin in the first week of Feb,” he said.“Around eight lakh students are expected to appear for the two examinations in 2027,” Tigga said. In 2026, more than 7.48 lakh candidates were scheduled to take the exams — 4,23,861 in matriculation and 3,24,321 in intermediate. The examinations began on Feb 3 at 1,989 centres across the state. The council has asked schools and colleges to complete preparations before the online application process begins. Institutions have been directed to download the forms, distribute them among students, prepare the list of students and match the details in the filled-in forms with registration data. The exercise is intended to identify eligible students who may have been left out. The council cautioned institutions against entering incorrect registration numbers, saying cases had been reported in which one student’s number was used for another candidate.Such discrepancies were detected only after admit cards were issued, putting the academic year of eligible students at risk, the notification said.
