Bokaro: Ahead of Diwali and Chhath, the district administration on Monday directed officials to crack down on unauthorised firecracker sales and ensure strict compliance with safety norms.Chas sub-divisional officer (SDO) Pranjal Dhadha said, “All police stations and outpost in-charges, along adminsitrative officials, have been instructed to identify and take action against shops selling firecrackers without licences. Block-level officials have been asked to monitor temporary stalls set up along roadsides and in crowded areas.”Unauthorised firecracker stalls in congested localities pose a fire and safety risk. Authorities have been asked to ensure that sales are restricted to designated locations and that shops do not operate from narrow lanes where emergency vehicles may face difficulty accessing the site.The administration urged traders dealing in firecracker to adhere to safety norms prescribed by the Bokaro-Chas fire department and provisions of the Explosives Act.
