Pune: Following reports of rainwater accumulation at Maan metro station (PMR-01) on Sunday, a day ahead of its inauguration, PMRDA officials said the main reason was a temporary block in the rainwater drainage pipe on the terrace slab of the entry structure.Since the terrace slab is open to the sky, the temporary block in the drainage pipe caused rainwater to accumulate on the slab and eventually overflow. As a result, water seeped through the gap between the station box and the entry structure and became visible at the mezzanine level. The temporary block in the drainage pipe has since been cleared, and rainwater drainage is now functioning smoothly, PMRDA officials said. The leakage was caused solely by the temporary block in the drainage pipe and there is no defect in any of the structural elements of either the station box or the entry structure.
