The National Testing Agency (NTA) has allowed Non-Resident Indian (NRI) candidates to use their passports as valid identity proof while registering for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2027. The clarification will help candidates who do not have an Aadhaar card, PAN card or driving licence complete their application process. The agency confirmed the decision while responding to a candidate’s query on its official X account. The candidate had asked whether NRIs without the commonly used identity documents could use their passports to register for the examination. In response, NTA clarified that passports can be used as valid identity proof during registration.
