Ranchi: Weightlifter Anjali Kumari clinched Jharkhand’s first gold medal on Tuesday at the 70th SGFI National School Games Weightlifting Championship in New Delhi, winning the U-19 girls’ 63kg category. Anjali lifted 74kg in snatch and 92kg in clean and jerk for a total of 166kg, finishing ahead of lifters from Punjab and Maharashtra by 6kg and 8kg respectively.Her gold takes Jharkhand’s overall tally at the National School Games to seven medals: one gold, one silver and five bronze, Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) has announced.
