Mandya: Zilla panchayat chief executive officer Nandini KR has directed officials and contractors to expedite the ongoing multi-village drinking water supply projects in Srirangapatna, Mandya and Malavalli taluks.Inspecting the project near Maralagala in Srirangapatna taluk, which is designed to supply drinking water to 51 habitations, she reviewed the progress of the water purification unit and other infrastructure works.Expressing concern over the delay in commencing work on the jackwell, a crucial component of the Srirangapatna project, Nandini directed officials to expedite technical procedures.She expressed strong dissatisfaction over the slow progress of the twin multi-village projects in Mandya and Malavalli taluks. Taking serious note of the contractors’ failure to deploy adequate manpower and machinery, she instructed the concerned assistant executive engineers to initiate action against defaulting contractors as per contractual provisions.
