Daltonganj: Two spectacled cobras were rescued from a well at Choukri village under Palamu’s Haidernagar police station limits on Tuesday. Locals spotted the snakes in the well, used for irrigation, and informed the police and forest officers. Subsequently, a rescue operation was launched.“Recent rains increased the water level in the masonry well. The snakes may have fallen into it while chasing prey such as frogs and lizards,” Medininagar divisional forest officer Satyam Kumar said. T Mannan, the officer in-charge of Haidernagar police station, said the snakes were rescued unharmed.
