Times News NetworkKanpur: A man allegedly strangled his wife to death following a domestic dispute at Gram Palam in Bhareh police station area on Sunday night and has since been absconding.Shivpujan Singh Gurjar had argued with his wife, Avadhesh Kumari, over a family matter before the dispute escalated. Shivpujan, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, strangled her in a fit of rage, causing her death, police said.The accused was reportedly addicted to alcohol and frequently assaulted and quarrelled with his wife while intoxicated.After the killing, family members raised an alarm and the villagers gathered at the spot. Police inspected the scene, took the body into custody and completed inquest proceedings before sending it for a post-mortem examination. An investigation is underway.
