Kolkata: A licensed building surveyor (LBS), associated with the Kolkata Municipal Corporation buildings dept has been show-caused by the director-general of the department for posting derogatory remarks on social media against state municipal affairs minister Agnimitra Paul, municipal commissioner Smita Pandey and the KMC road renaming committee chairman Swami Pradiptananda, popularly known as Kartik Maharaj.According to the KMC sources, the notice was sent to Angshuman Sarkar, the LBS and a structural engineer, on Oct 28 for posting the derogatory comments against the trio 10 days ago. In his post, Sarkar appealed to CM Suvendu Adhikari to remove the trio from their posts for the ‘sake of public interest’. However, the post created an uproar in the civic corridors as soon as it went viral. According to a KMC official, if Sarkar fails to give a satisfactory reply, his licence would be revoked by the civic brass. “We are waiting for a reply from Sarkar,” said an official.Meanwhile, Sarkar on Monday said a reply had already been sent to the buildings dept DG . “I have written nothing derogatory. Let them decide whatever they feel proper,” said Sarkar, adding that he was mulling legal recourse.
