Times News NetworkKanpur: City residents got an opportunity to explore a wide range of export-quality leather products at a four-day Leather Fair that commenced at Moti Jheel Park-1 on Friday. Several products on display were new to local visitors, many of whom were unaware of the variety of goods manufactured by the city’s leather industry.Organised by the Council for Leather Exports (CLE), the fair has around 40 manufacturers and exporters displaying a wide range of leather products. Prices start at Rs 200.The objective of the fair is to familiarise consumers in the city and other parts of Uttar Pradesh with the diverse range of products manufactured by the state’s leather industry. These products are exported to countries including the US, New Zealand, Russia and Australia. However, their demand in the domestic market has remained limited due to a lack of awareness among local consumers. To bridge this gap, manufacturers and exporters have come together to showcase their products, inform visitors about their utility and make them available for direct purchase.………….
