Gurgaon: Police arrested two men and recovered five country-made pistols, magazines and a Volkswagen car from their possession near Sector 112 in Bajghera on Thursday evening.The accused, 27-year-old Deepak and 28-year-old Rahul, are both residents of Janti Kalan in Sonipat.Police said a team led by sub-inspector Lalit Kumar, in-charge of Crime Branch Sector 40 of Gurgaon police, apprehended the two following a tip-off.According to police, Deepak has eight criminal cases, including murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping and other serious offences, registered against him in Gurgaon, Sonipat, Rewari and Delhi. He had remained in jail from 2019 to 2025 in connection with a murder case and other criminal cases before being released on bail by the high court in December 2025.ACP (Crime) Indivar said Deepak had allegedly procured the weapons after coming out of jail and was planning to form his own gang, with Rahul as one of his associates. He had also allegedly murdered a fellow villager, Satvir, in 2019, which led to enmity with his family. Deepak was also seeking revenge for the murder of his paternal aunt’s son. The weapons were allegedly procured for these reasons.Police said the weapons were purchased from Khargone district in Madhya Pradesh for Rs 3 lakh. Investigators also found that he had allegedly supplied weapons to the main accused in a snatching-cum-robbery case in Dwarka, Delhi.Police have registered a case under the Arms Act at Bajghera police station. “The two accused are being questioned to ascertain the source of the weapons and trace the supply network,” ACP said.
