TNNKhanna: Months after protesting over delayed salaries, Mgnrega employees said some of their wages were still pending and reiterated that regularisation, rather than payment of salaries alone, was key to resolving their concerns.Representatives of the Mgnrega Karamchari Union met Punjab rural development and panchayats minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond and raised their demands. The employees had earlier staged a protest outside the minister’s residence in Khanna in July over delayed salaries.Sond said their genuine demands would be examined on priority and taken up with the departments concerned for time-bound resolution.He said the employees played an important role in implementing Mgnrega and now VB-G RAM G, besides strengthening rural infrastructure and delivering government schemes at the grassroots.The minister said issues involving policy decisions or financial implications would be discussed with the finance department to explore feasible solutions.
