GU appoints in-charges for 60 buildings, launches complaint app

Ahmedabad: Gujarat University has introduced a new campus management system to improve infrastructure maintenance, safety and the well-being of students, faculty members and administrative staff. As part of the initiative, the university has appointed dedicated building in-charges for around 60 buildings on its campus. The designated officers and professors will be responsible for monitoring the safety, security, cleanliness, repairs, upgradation and renovation of their respective buildings.GU has also introduced an Android application through which students, teachers and administrative staff can register issues related to cleanliness, electricity, civil work, lifts, water supply, furniture, repairs and infrastructure. The facility is expected to simplify the complaint registration process and eliminate the need for individuals to visit administrative offices to report problems.Complaints submitted through the application will be monitored through a dynamic dashboard. Once a complaint is registered, it will be forwarded directly to the concerned department or agency for necessary action. The university administration will monitor the process to ensure that complaints are resolved promptly and satisfactorily within the stipulated time, officials said. The initiative extends beyond academic buildings to cover the entire university campus, sports facilities and hostels.
