Bhubaneswar: Educational institutions in Ganjam and Gajapati districts will remain closed for additional days as heavy rain, flooding and waterlogging triggered by cyclone Arnab continue to disrupt normal life in parts of the state. In Ganjam, the district administration on Thursday ordered all anganwadi centres, schools, degree colleges, technical institutions and university departments to remain closed until Oct 31. In Gajapati, the administration extended the closure of schools by two days. The schools, which were scheduled to reopen after remaining closed through Oct 29, will stay shut as adverse weather continues to affect normal life.Meanwhile, the deadline for the third-phase slide-up admission process for the two-year diploma in elementary education, commonly known as CT, for the 2026–28 academic session has been extended by two days because of the prevailing weather conditions. The process was scheduled for Oct 29.The extension is expected to give candidates additional time to complete admission formalities. The admission process is conducted by the Directorate of Teacher Education and the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS).
