Kanpur: Villagers thrashed a former pradhan’s son and assaulted police personnel during a ‘kuaan pujan’, a ritual before a well is operational, in Sondhi village in Jalaun’s Kadaura police station area.The son of Hansa village’s former pradhan entered a room where a dancer was getting ready and made obscene gestures at her, enraging villagers. Police personnel who reached the village after receiving information were also assaulted. Personnel from three police stations were deployed to bring the situation under control. CO Rajesh Kamal said the matter was being investigated.
