Kanpur: In view of the forthcoming Chhath Puja, mayor Pramila Pandey and municipal commissioner Arpit Upadhyaya visited the Chhath Puja ghats along the Armapur canal on Thursday.The festival is scheduled to be held from Nov 13 to 16.The mayor reprimanded officials after noticing filth in the canal and directed them to ensure its cleaning and restoration of water supply. She also instructed officials to construct two temporary changing rooms for women at the Armapur Ghat and make adequate street-lighting arrangements.Executive engineer (Zone 5) Kamlesh Patel and ZSO Avanish Yadav were present during the inspection.
