The Mukhyamantri Mandi Sthal/Up-Mandi Sthal Agnikand Durghatna Sahayata Yojana is a Uttar Pradesh Government initiative aimed at providing financial assistance to licensed traders and commission agents (arhatiyas) operating from shops or spaces allotted to them in regulated mandis and sub-mandi premises. The scheme provides support when traders or arhtiyas suffer losses because of fire-related accidents or lightning (natural electricity) incidents occurring within the mandi or sub-mandi premises.Who is eligible?The assistance is available to licensed traders and arhtiyas who have been allotted a shop or designated place by the Mandi Samiti and who suffer damage due to:
- Fire accidents (Agnikand)
- Lightning or natural electricity-related incidents
What assistance is provided?Under the scheme, financial assistance is provided against the actual loss suffered, subject to a maximum limit of Rs 2 lakh. (Actual assessed loss, or Rs2 lakh, whichever is lower).ObjectiveThe scheme seeks to provide a financial safety net to traders and arhtiyas working in mandi premises and protect them from severe financial hardship caused by unforeseen fire or lightning incidents. It also strengthens confidence among businesses operating through the state’s regulated agricultural marketing infrastructure. The scheme provides up to Rs 2 lakh financial assistance to eligible licensed mandi traders and arhtiyas for actual losses caused by fire or lightning within allotted mandi/sub-mandi premises. This assistance helps them recover from unexpected damage and resume their business activities.
