Chitradurga: BJP state president BY Vijayendra Saturday accused Congress of conspiring to create instability in the country, alleging that some organisations were receiving financial support to foment unrest.Addressing a meeting of voters of the South-East graduates’ constituency, organised jointly by BJP and JD(S) at Valmiki Bhavan in Chitradurga, Vijayendra referred to protests by Communist party leader Neha Bora, who allegedly wore a T-shirt featuring a skull. He claimed similar symbols had been used in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Indonesia to create unrest.Vijayendra alleged that statements by Congress leaders indicated financial support for various organisations and claimed that attempts were being made to create confusion in the country through foreign funding. He accused Rahul Gandhi of misusing organisations out of frustration over electoral defeats and said attempts to destabilise the country through Communist parties would not succeed. On the alleged sting operation that has triggered a political controversy in Karnataka, Vijayendra urged former chief minister Siddaramaiah and chief minister DK Shivakumar to order a comprehensive investigation and ensure the case reaches its logical conclusion.“Everyone knows who is behind the sting operation. This cannot be a case of making allegations and then backing out. A fair investigation must be conducted against everyone involved, irrespective of their position,” he said.Vijayendra said BJP would support sugarcane growers’ agitation and padayatra, stressing that both the Union and state govts had a responsibility to address farmers’ grievances. He said the state govt must take responsibility for addressing farmers’ demands and ensuring they receive a fair price for their produce.MP Govind M Karjol, MLA M Chandrappa, former MLA GH Thippareddy and MLC KS Naveen were present.
