Dharwad: Second additional district special Pocso court sentenced Prashant Gouda Neelappagoudra, 37, to 20 years’ rigorous imprisonment and fined him Rs 55,000 for sexually assaulting a minor girl. Judge Rajkumar C also directed that the victim be paid Rs 6 lakh from the Victim Compensation Fund. Neelappagoudra, who is married, had allegedly lured the girl with a promise of marriage, sexually assaulted her and threatened her against disclosing the matter. She subsequently became pregnant and gave birth at KIMS Hospital in Hubballi on June 26, 2024. The girl’s father filed a complaint at Kalaghatagi police station. Inspector Shreeshail Koujalagi investigated and filed a chargesheet. Public prosecutor Shaila Angadi argued the case.
