Patna: A 48-year-old man was arrested in Darbhanga district for allegedly raping a two-year-old girl in Darbhanga district, who is his granddaughter in relation.The accused allegedly lured the child on the pretext of showing her a fair and buying some snacks on Saturday evening. However, when the child returned after a long time, she was bleeding. Locals suspected foul play, after which the matter came to light. The condition of the child remains serious and she has been admitted to a govt health facility in Darbhanga, police said.According to information, Vishnu Dev Sada (48) reached his in-laws’ house on Saturday evening and asked the child of his brother-in-law’s son to come to a fair. Instead of taking her to a fair, the accused took the child to a mango orchard about 200 metres away from the house and allegedly committed the crime.After a search, villagers found him with the girl, who was bleeding. Seeing her condition, family members and villagers informed police.On getting information, local SHO Rahul Kumar reached the spot with the police force and detained the accused Vishnu.SDPO-II Satish Kumar Suman said, “The accused has been arrested and sent to jail after production in a local court. Due to the serious condition of the child, she has been admitted to a govt hospital. The FSL team has collected samples from the crime spot. A rape case has been registered against the accused under the Pocso Act. Further legal action is being taken in the matter.”
