Chitradurga: BJP’s Hiriyur taluk unit has lodged a police complaint against a person identified as Dr Javid Khan, accusing him of making derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.A delegation led by BJP Hiriyur taluk unit president K Abhinandan submitted the complaint at Hiriyur town police station on Saturday and sought legal action against Khan.According to BJP leaders, a video purportedly showing Khan making objectionable remarks about the Prime Minister while travelling to Delhi to participate in a protest at Jantar Mantar over the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has been circulating on social media.The leaders urged police to examine the video and initiate appropriate action.Speaking to reporters at the BJP office after filing the complaint, party leaders said democracy guaranteed the right to criticise and protest, but maintained that the use of derogatory language against public figures was unacceptable.BJP city unit president Manjunath, SC Morcha president Manjunath, general secretary Nitin Gowda, Yuva Morcha president KT Hanumanth, Vasu Yadav, KL Guru, Asif and G Suresh were present.
