Ahmedabad: The estate department of the civic body’s West Zone executed major anti-encroachment drives on Friday to clear thoroughfares and reclaim reserved municipal land.In Paldi, authorities demolished over 60 temporary and permanent structures situated along a 12-metre Town Planning road leading toward Shreyas Metro Station near Ganesh Awas Yojana. Meanwhile, in Naranpura, six commercial shops were torn down to clear a reserved final plot under TP Scheme 29 at Ranna Park.In Ranip, 19 shanties were removed to clear a reserved plot under TP Scheme 66, with official possession of both the Naranpura and Ranip sites successfully secured by the civic body. Additionally, municipal teams targeted the Nava Vadaj area, dismantling a permanent concrete ramp that obstructed an 18-metre-wide arterial road stretching between Shantaram Hall and Nirnaynagar.Officials stated that these coordinated operations aim to ease traffic bottlenecks, restore smooth public transit, and recover valuable public property across the zone.
