Nagpur: A 34-year-old bouncer was caught by Gittikhadan police after he allegedly fired two rounds in the air under the influence of alcohol at Surendragarh on Friday.Sources said one round reportedly got stuck, while the other two rounds were recovered during the police action. Police reportedly found the firearm concealed in a pillow.The accused, Vedprakash alias Robinson Mishra, is a bodybuilder and gym trainer. Sources said Mishra is an ardent fan of Salman Khan and had managed to meet the actor once. However, his subsequent attempts to meet Khan allegedly failed, leaving him frustrated.Police arrested Mishra, son of a priest, from his residence near Radhakrishna temple in Surendragarh in the early hours of Saturday. Police recovered a country-made pistol, two live cartridges and an empty cartridge worth Rs 25,600 from his possession.As per sources, Mishra had gone to a dhaba for lunch when a truck driver approached him for a loan. After Mishra refused, the truck driver allegedly offered him a firearm and five rounds of ammunition. The exact sequence of firing and the source of the weapon are yet to be established officially.The action was carried out by the anti-prohibition squad led by head constable Sandeep Changole, under the supervision of senior inspector Sarag Meerashi and zonal DCP Annapurna Singh.Gittikhadan police registered a case under the Arms Act provisions concerning illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, along with the relevant provision of the Maharashtra Police Act.
